Dr. Nick Nianiaris

Biography

Dr. Nick Nianiaris is the Medical Director of Refractive Surgery at the TLC Yonge Eglinton Laser Eye Centre where he specializes in laser eye surgery and cataract surgery. He has performed over 30,000 laser procedures with TLC where he has been Medical Director since 1994. Dr. Nianiaris acquired his medical degree in 1988 from the University of Toronto. His Ophthalmology residency followed at the University of Toronto. He chose to continue training, completing a Fellowship in Ophthalmic Research (including excimer laser studies) at Mt. Sinai Hospital. He is Ophthalmology certified by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and he is a Diplomat of the American Board of Ophthalmology. He has trained extensively in laser procedures with some of the world’s foremost authorities in refractive surgery. Dr. Nianiaris is also an expert in small incision cataract surgery with extensive experience using several phacoemulsification platforms and intraocular lenses. He has performed many thousands of cataract procedures over the past 20 years.
