Biography
Amélie Daoust-Boisvert is a touch of all. She studied biology and published her poetry to finally choose journalism. And she pursues her career as an independent journalist and lecturer at the Department. For the year 2011-2012, it covers health for the daily Le Devoir. The one who completed a bachelor's degree in biology at UQAM in 2006 wanted to live with her pen at the end of the CEGEP. No wonder that Amélie Daoust-Boisvert entered the world of scientific communication in 2003, writing for the UQAM Science Express. Then, journalism prevails in his heart. An independent journalist since 2007, she has worked with the Agence Science-Presse, the magazine Découvrir and Radio-Canada. Desirous of training in journalism, she completed a Master's degree in Public Communication at Université Laval. Recipient of the AJIQ-Le Devoir scholarship in 2008, she completed a one-month internship in the Montreal daily before joining her team as a supernumerary journalist. She has since worked in the newsroom of the rue de Bleury, as well as collaborating with various magazines. Since the summer of 2009, Amélie Daoust-Boisvert has taught the online course " Communication Scientifique" which she created with Jean-Marc Fleury, visiting professor in the Department. The students' questions require the lecturer to question journalistic practices and to keep themselves constantly updated, both on scientific and journalistic subjects. Concrete examples to illustrate his remarks, Amélie Daoust-Boisvert do not miss it! His colleagues from Le Devoir are a constant source of inspiration. She feels a sense of duty when she sees that students enjoy her course ... and that some even try their luck in journalism and communication
