Biography
Visiting Professor at the Department of Information and Communication at Laval University, Jean-Marc Fleury is the Director General of the World Federation of Science Journalists. Jean-Marc Fleury, a pioneer of science journalism at Le Soleil , editor-in-chief of Quebec Science magazine , later worked at the International Development Research Center (IDRC). From 1976 to 2006, he held various roles, including scientific editor, editor, science journalism trainer, regional liaison officer (Senegal) and communications director. Throughout his career, he has received numerous awards for magazine, medical, agriculture and environmental articles. Very active in the network of artisans of scientific journalism, he is also a founding member of the Association of Scientific Communicators of Quebec. The latter association awarded him the Hommage 2007 prize for his contribution to scientific journalism.
