Biography

Josianne Millette is passionate about everything related to communication and the media. She is particularly interested in the ethical and political issues of public communication in general, but more specifically in public relations. Her studies in the Media Art and Technologies program were an opportunity for her to discover public relations, which have since been at the center of her professional activities and research interests. In search of the fundamental principles and issues that cross the discipline of public relations and, more broadly, the phenomena of contemporary public communication, she then began studies at the Bachelor of Philosophy at the Université de Montréal before completing a major in History, Culture and Society at the Université du Québec à Montréal. His master's degree in communication studies at UQAM was a first opportunity to articulate critical reflection on public relations in the light of an interest in militant commitment and activist practices. She continues her reflection as part of the joint doctoral program in communication at UQAM. Her work focuses on the ethical dimension of integrating Social Web technologies into the practice of public relations. She is particularly interested in developing qualitative and critical approaches to public relations. An interest in the logics, cultures and tensions surrounding the practice of public relations and the dissemination of these to all spheres of activity is the red thread of his research approach.
