Biography
Michel Beauchamp is currently Vice-President, Human Resources. Michel Beauchamp holds a bachelor's degree in journalism and information and a master's degree in sociology from Université Laval. In 1987, he obtained a Ph.D. in political science from the same university, after having taken part of his schooling in Paris and Lille. From 1972 to 1983, he was employed by the Quebec Education Center as an advisor, then as a writer and communications advisor for the Mouvement Desjardins. He subsequently taught at the Université de Moncton the information and communication program. In 1987, he was a professor in the Department of Information and Communication at the Faculty of Arts at Laval University. He became a full professor in 1994. For more than twenty years, his research and teaching have dealt with public communication and communication practices in different organizational contexts. He is the author and co-author of four books in communication and collective book chapters, and has published numerous articles in scientific journals. As a researcher, he was a member of the Chair for the Development of Research on French-Speaking Culture in North America (CEFAN), the Center for Research on Social Innovations (CRISES) and research groups GISCOR, NORSOM). He has produced some twenty research reports on communications, organizational change, corporate culture, and savings and credit cooperation. He has received various research grants, directed or co-directed more than sixty people at the master's and doctoral level (theses, dissertations, essays) and he has been a member of various evaluation committees. Over the years, he has developed a sustained interest in management, research, case study and training in public, organizational and social communication.
