Biography
Mr. Steven C. Preston, also known as Steve, has been the Chief Executive Officer of Livingston Group since 2013. Mr. Preston served as the Chief Executive Officer at Livingston International Inc. He served as the Chief Executive Officer of Livingston International Income Fund since August 2013 until November 2, 2016. He served as the Chief Executive Officer and President at Oakleaf Waste Management, LLC. Mr. Preston served as a Senior Advisor at New Mountain Capital, LLC., Allegheny New Mountain Partners, L.P., New Mountain Partners II, L.P. and New Mountain Partners III, L.P. He served as a Senior Advisor at New Mountain Partners, L.P. He served as Chief Executive Officer of Oakleaf Global Holdings from 2009 to 2011. He served as an Executive Vice President of Finance, Recycling & Energy Services and Principal Financial Officer of Waste Management, Inc. from October 1, 2011 to July 2012. Mr. Preston joined New Mountain Capital in June 2009. He was also responsible for New Mountain Partners III, L.P., New Mountain Partners II, L.P., New Mountain Partners, L.P., and Allegheny New Mountain Partners, L.P. Mr. Preston is a highly-regarded leader with demonstrated success in advancing business strategies, managing people and improving service quality and efficiency through better business processes and technology. He served in the President's Cabinet as Secretary of the US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) from 2008 to 2009, where Mr. Preston managed 8,600 employees and a budget of over $50 billion while implementing an aggressive plan to improve Americans' access to mortgage capital, ensure disaster victims' access to housing and rebuild public housing in New Orleans. From 2006 to 2008, he served as an Administrator of the United States Small Business Administration (SBA). Under Mr. Preston's leadership, SBA significantly improved Federal programs that assist disaster victims and small businesses and implemented the most extensive employee development initiative in the agency's history. From 1997 to 2006, he served first as the Chief Financial Officer; as an Executive Vice President of Strategic Services of The ServiceMaster Company from April 1997 to June 1998; and as the Principal Accounting Officer. He served as Executive Vice President of The ServiceMaster Company from July 1998 to April 2006. From August 1993 to March 1997, he served as a Senior Vice President and Corporate Treasurer at First Data Corporation in Atlanta, Georgia. He serves as a Director of Retail Industry Leaders Association. He serves as a Director of Oakleaf Waste Management, LLC and Oakleaf Waste Management, LLC. He serves as a Member of the Advisory Board at Concentric Equity Partners I, L.P. He served as Director of Hartford HealthCare Corporation. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, with highest distinction, from Northwestern University and an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago, Graduate School of Business.
