Garry Leach

Biography

Mr. Garry A. Leach serves as the Chief Executive Officer at Belcher Island Smelting & Refining Corp. Mr. Leach serves as the President of Gerdau Ameristeel Mrm Special Sections Inc. He served as Vice President of MRM Special, a subsidiary of Gerdau Ameristeel Corp. From 1988 to 2004, he served as the President and Chief Executive Officer of Gerdau MRM Steel (Manitoba Rolling Mills) and its predecessors. Prior to that, he served as the President and Chief Executive Officer of Mandak Metal Processors Ltd. he has been a Director of G.L.M. Industries L.P., since January 25, 2008. Mr. Leach has been a Director at Pollard Banknote Limited, a General Partner of Pollard Banknote Limited Partnership since March 5, 2009. He also serves as a Trustee of Pollard Banknote Income Fund. He serves as a Director of Manitoba Hydro. He served as a Director of Gerdau Ameristeel (TSX), the Canadian Steel Producers Association and the Steel Manufacturers Association (Washington). He has served as Regent, University of Winnipeg, Chair of Invest Manitoba and as an advisor to Arts Stabilization Manitoba and the University of Manitoba's Department of Continuing Education. He served as a Member of the Premier's Manitoba Economic Innovation and Technology Council (EITC). Mr. Leach holds a B.A. degree from the University of Manitoba.
