Biography
Alain received a BA from the University of Alberta (2000), an MA from the University of Toronto (2002) and a PhD from the University of Oregon (2008). Prior to arriving at MacEwan he was Assistant Professor of Philosophy and Religious Studies at Central Washington University (2008-2011). Alain's teaching and research focus has been in the field of ethics, broadly construed, with a focus on the works of John Dewey, Hans-Georg Gadamer, Aristotle and Plato. On top of publishing articles on these figures, Alain has written and presented papers in the fields of aesthetics, philosophy of film, phenomenology, philosophy of education, and the philosophy of sex.
