Biography
Elizabeth Burgess-Pinto joined MacEwan University in 2008. Her clinical experience is primarily in the areas of pediatrics/child health nursing and community health nursing. As a sessional instructor, she taught in the undergraduate program at the Faculty of Nursing at the University of Alberta. Her research experience includes being National Coordinator for the New Canadian Children & Youth study, an interdisciplinary survey of the well-being of immigrant and refugee children and youth in six Canadian cities. Her professional practice and research interests include qualitative research methods, narrative inquiry, action research, survey research, relational ethics and practice, global health, immigrant/refugee child and family health, and heutagogical approaches to nursing undergraduate education.
