Biography
Dr. Michael Annett's work focuses on human resource management and the systems that organizations use to manage and support their workforce. Prior to joining MacEwan University, he worked as an HR professional in the Alberta Government, in roles that included human resources consultant, organizational effectiveness advisor and manager of HR Community Development & Talent Analytics. Dr. Annett advocates for effective and socially responsible management. His research is directed towards practicing HR professionals and informing practical management problems with scholarly services.
Research Interest
Dr. Annett's research targets the practical problems that HR professionals face when striving to increase workplace inclusion. This primarily includes matters related to the employment of persons with disabilities and long-term disability/return to work, but extends to other facets of diversity and inclusion. He primarily use a risk lens to help make sense of organizational and supervisor concerns and identify pathways forward.
