Biography
Peter teaches a wide variety of courses related to social work practice. He also coordinates student field placement and is involved in a number of university committees and community activities. Peter has also worked in number of unique social work settings. He has worked with teens in wilderness environments and outdoor education related programs. He has been the director of a multi-disciplinary child abuse team. He has also worked in private practice with men who have engaged in physical and emotional violence.
Research Interest
Peter’s research interests revolve around gaining a deeper understanding of the human-nature relationship. He has conducted research related to the concept of ecological identity and has also explored the important role “nature” can play in child development. Recently Peter has been involved in a research effort that raises questions related to the practice of introducing newcomers to Canada to park settings in Alberta. Peter has presented his research to a number of local, national and international groups and conferences
