Biography

Stephani Kingsmill is Executive Vice President, Human Resources for Manulife, responsible for the Company’s global human resources organization and is a member of Manulife’s Executive Committee. In her role leading the global HR team, Stephani has been instrumental in developing Manulife’s global talent strategy to recruit, retain, engage and develop the company’s global workforce as well as promote a high performing culture. Stephani has also been a driving force on the company’s WorkSmart initiative to integrate workplace flexibility, design and technologies to strengthen the company’s competitiveness in attracting and retaining the best talent. Prior to her current role, Stephani was Senior Vice President and General Manager, Real Estate, responsible for Manulife’s multi-billion dollar investment portfolio of prime office and industrial properties in Canada, the US and Asia. Stephani provided leadership in the execution of the real estate component of Manulife’s merger with John Hancock, the largest cross-border merger in Canadian history. Stephani joined Manulife in 1988 and has a wide range of experience in the Company’s core financial services business lines, with increasingly senior marketing and product development positions in Manulife’s U.S. Division, Canadian Division, global third party asset management business and most recently had oversight for the company’s global branding and communications function. Stephani has been named one of the 100 most influential women in Canada by the Women’s Executive Network in 2008, 2009 and 2014. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Queen’s University and is a member of the University of Toronto’s Rotman School of Management Financial Services Advisory Board. She is a member of the Steering Committee of Greater Toronto’s CivicAction, an organization which engages civic leaders to improve the region’s social, economic and environmental future.
