Biography
Boyd, originally from Saskatoon, enjoyed a business career in the transportation industry spanning more than 20 years prior to articling with the firm in 2004, and he was offered a partnership upon admission to the bar in 2005. Boyd attended the University of Saskatchewan for both his B.A. and LL.B. degrees. He and his family, including three children, relocated to Rainbow Lake in 2001, and Boyd, his wife Tanys, and their youngest daughter Sydney still reside there. Their oldest two daughters have since returned to Saskatchewan, and they currently have two grandchildren. Boyd practices in the areas of real estate, corporate, commercial and criminal law, and works primarily from our High Level office, but has office hours in La Crete each Thursday and sees clients by appointment in Rainbow Lake. Boyd has been a Councillor for the Town of Rainbow Lake since 2002 and is currently the Mayor. In addition to many volunteer activities for various community groups, Boyd also sits on the Boards of the Regional Economic Development Initiative for Northwest Alberta, Mackenzie Municipal Services Agency and the High Level Forests Public Advisory Group, and is also a Director of the High Level Oilmen’s Association. Previously he served as President of the Rainbow Lake & District Chamber of Commerce, and was a Board Member and Chair of the Rainbow Lake Victim Services Unit and Rainbow Lake Community Advisory Committee. Boyd and his family enjoy various motorsports, golfing and spending time at their cabin on the Little Smoky River with their two Golden Retrievers.
