Biography
John Abbott is an independent consultant providing financial advice to companies engaged in the energy sector. With more than 30 years of financial industry experience, John has been involved in numerous mergers and acquisitions, and equity and debt financing transactions for companies and governments in Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, and China. John is also a director of Nexen Energy. Previously, John managed the investment banking office of BMO Capital Markets in Calgary. More recently, he was executive advisor to Deloitte in the energy sector, focused on Canada and China. John holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree and a Master of Business Administration degree from Memorial University in Newfoundland, and is a chartered financial analyst
