Biography
Ms. Geneviève Fortier is Senior Vice President, Human Resources and Public Affairs. In addition to overseeing all strategic initiatives aimed at promoting and preserving McKesson Canada’s reputation, Ms. Fortier is responsible for the strategy to represent McKesson’s interests in terms of public health policies with federal and provincial governments. She is also responsible for developing and implementing strategies and solutions to attract, develop and retain top talent within the company. Since joining McKesson Canada in 2007, Ms. Fortier has also been responsible for Legal Affairs, Corporate Security and Six Sigma. Prior to McKesson, she held increasingly senior human resource executive positions - notably at Reitmans Canada, Merck Frosst Canada and BioChem Pharma. Mrs. Fortier is Chair of the Board for the CHUM – Montreal University Hospital Center and the CHU SJ – Ste. Justine University Hospital Center. She is also a Board Director of the Neighbourhood Pharmacy Association of Canada. She sits as well on the Board of Directors of Sanimax where she chairs the Governance, Human Resources and Environment Committee. In 2004 Ms. Fortier was elected President of the Canadian Council of Human Resources Associations and, from 2000-2004, Chair of the Board of Directors for the Ordre des conseillers en ressources humaines et relations industrielles agréés du Québec. In 2014, Geneviève Fortier was presented with the Women in Business Award in the “Executive, Private Company” category. In that same year, she was named Fellow of the Ordre des conseillers en ressources humaines agréés. In 2006, Ms. Fortier was awarded the PRIX DE L’ACADÉMIE DE LA PERFORMANCE™ for her leadership and outstanding contribution to the human resources field. The Interprofessional Council also awarded her the MÉRITE PROFESSIONNEL for her contribution to the development and growth of the human resources profession in Quebec. Ms. Fortier holds a Bachelor’s degree and a Master’s degree in Industrial Relations from Laval University in Quebec City.
