Biography
Mr. David Leonard has been Chief Executive Officer at MacLaren McCann Canada Inc. since April 2015. Mr. Leonard has more than 25 years of experience in leadership roles across Canada on both the agency and the client side of the business. He served as the President and Chief Operating Officer of DDB Canada from March 2010 to April 2015. Mr. Leonard served as the President of Toronto at DDB Canada. He first joined DDB Canada in 1994, and served as its Senior Vice President and Group Account Director. He was part of a remarkable, successful team that revolutionized "PJ" and helped transition the agency when it merged with DDB Worldwide in 1999. Mr. Leonard left DDB in 2001 to gain valuable leadership experience as President and Chief Executive Officer of Arnold Worldwide in Toronto. When the opportunity arose in 2005, he returned to head up DDB Canada's Toronto office. Under his direction, the Toronto office has continued to grow and significantly contribute to the overall success of DDB Canada. He started his career in print production at a small Vancouver agency and rose through the account service ranks at JWT Toronto, working with global clients such as Pepsi and Warner Lambert, and subsequently with Palmer Jarvis leading the McDonald's, Labatt's and TELUS businesses.
