Philippe Leclerc

Biography

Philippe Leclerc is a partner in our Business Law Group in Québec City and Montréal. He is also a member of McCarthy Tétrault's Board of Partners. Mr. Leclerc has extensive experience in commercial, corporate and securities law. He has been involved in a number of business transactions, including initial public offerings, acquisitions, take-overs, and public and private financings (notably project financings for the private production of electricity), both in Canada and abroad. Mr. Leclerc is consistently recognized as a leading lawyer in commercial, corporate and securities law by numerous prominent legal directories and guides including: 2018 Chambers Canada: Recognised Practitioner in Corporate Commercial Law 2017 Best Lawyers in Canada: Lawyer of the Year in Securities Law 2017 The Canadian Legal Lexpert Directory: Leading Lawyer in Corporate Finance & Securities, Corporate Mid-Market, Project Finance, Corporate Commercial Law, Technology Transactions and Mergers and Acquisitions. 2015 Guide to the Leading 500 Lawyers in Canada, Lexpert/ALM's: recommended lawyer in corporate capital markets. Furthermore, Mr. Leclerc is a lecturer at the Université Laval where he teaches business law and securities. Mr. Leclerc articled at the firm and was called to the Québec bar in October 1992. A graduate of the Faculty of Law (LLB) at Université Laval in 1991, he also studied at the University of Connecticut School of Law. While attending at Laval, Mr. Leclerc was an editor of the texts for Les Cahiers de Droit.
