Biography

Shea Small is the firm's International and Business Strategy Leader, the Co-leader of our Global Mining Group and a Partner in our Business Law Group. Shea has an international practice in our Toronto, Canada and London, UK offices focusing on mergers and acquisitions, capital markets, foreign investment and commercial transactions. Shea regularly advises bidders, targets, boards, controlling shareholders and private equity groups on public and private mergers and acquisitions including takeover bids, divestitures and joint ventures. Shea also regularly acts for issuers and dealers on public offerings and private placements. He has extensive experience with debt offerings by Canadian and foreign issuers. Shea is listed in the current editions of Chambers Global and Chambers Canada as a leading lawyer in the area of energy & natural resources: mining. Shea was named as a 2016 Leading Canadian Lawyer in Global Mining by Lexpert. Shea is also recognized as a leading lawyer by Lexpert in the current edition of their Canadian Legal Directory in the areas of corporate finance and securities, corporate commercial law, private equity, mergers and acquisitions and mining.
