Biography
Dr Bloom was an Associate Professor of Medicine at McGill University and an attending physician at the MUHC. From 1979 - 2000 he was Chair of the Royal Victoria Hospital Pharmacology and Therapeutics Committee and represented Internal Medicine on the MUHC Pharmacology and Therapeutics Committee until 2012. His clinical interests included clinical pharmacology, hypertension, sports medicine in elite athletes, and testing for performance enhancing substances. He also worked for many years as the medical correspondent for a major US news network.
