Summary of Work: 1. Xenotransplantation: The role of endothalial cell activation in a dog to porcine in vivomodel of liver transplantation The role of endothelial cell activation in a dog to porcine in vitromodel of islet transplantation 2. Cancer Metastasis: The role of adhesion molecules in the establisyhment of colon cancer liver metastasis. Specifically the expression of E selectin in liver sinusoidol endothelial cells during the development of liver metastasis. The expression of proprotein convertases in colon cancer liver metastasis and the effect of their inhibition on cancer progression. 3. Hepatocellular Carcinoma: Clinical trial: The effect of intrahepatic arterial chemoembolization pre-liver transplantation on the outcome of patients with larger hepatocellular carcinoma.
