Roksana Behruzi

Biography

Dr. Behruzi is a clinician researcher and senior midwife with more than 20 years of experience in both teaching and clinical research. She obtained a Masters degree (MSc) in Midwifery at the Tehran University of Medical Sciences in Iran, in 1993. She held a tenured position for 10 years at Mazandaran University of Medical Sciences in Iran, where she was nominated two times as the best researcher of the year in 2001 and 2002.She completed a PhD in Public Health (health care organization) at the University of Montreal, in 2011, during which she obtained many awards and bursary such as; CIHR-STIRRHS, Sainte-Justine Hospital Foundation For love of Children (FHSJ/FRMI) and Bourse d'Études Supérieures en Santé Publique de Université de Montréal. In 2008, she awarded by JSPS-CIHR to accomplish a fellowship in Japan on maternity care services.  She also accomplished three years postdoctoral fellowship in Health Services and Health Policy at the department of Family Medicine at McGill University, for which, she was awarded two times the Fond de Recherche en Santé du Québec (FRSQ). Her excellent experience and skills in monitoring adherence of projects to GCPs and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) led to collaborate with GCP Trials center in Montreal where she performs workshops to clinical research staff. Her ultimate goal has always been to improve the overall health of women and families. She has been appointed at the McGill, Department of Family Medicine, since 2016, with an affiliation to the Research Center at CISSS in Outaouais. She has been the principal investigator of many clinical trials, Randomized Controlled trials in the field of obstetrics and gynecology, as well as qualitative and case studies in health care services and health policy.
