Biography
Dr. Coderre's main research interest is the pharmacological, neurochemical and anatomical characterization of mechanisms underlying neuroplasticity in the spinal cord dorsal horn and brain, and its influence on pain perception. The purpose of these investigations is to provide integrated anatomical, neurochemical and physiological information on how excitatory amino acids, neuropeptides and growth factors interact with their receptors and intracellular messengers to induce states of noxious stimulus-induced plasticity in the central nervous system that lead to behavioural hyperalgesia or enhanced pain perception.
