Richard Brennan

Biography

Richard Brennan is responsible for leading McKesson Canada’s growing retail pharmacy banner business – including Drug Trading (Guardian and I.D.A.), The Medicine Shoppe Canada, PROXIM and Remedy’sRx – and helping independent pharmacies thrive in their respective communities.   A proud Maritimer, Mr. Brennan joined McKesson Canada fourteen years ago and has played roles of increasing responsibility since then with a clear focus on profitability and operational excellence. He has been extensively involved in optimizing and securing the McKesson distribution network in Atlantic Canada, including the construction of the Moncton office and regional distribution centre, and has contributed his expertise to the ongoing growth of McKesson retail banners in the region. More recently, he was responsible for the rollout of the Integrated Drug Supply Chain in New Brunswick, as well as development and expansion of Central Fill for prescription medications in Quebec and elsewhere in Canada. Prior to joining McKesson Canada, Mr. Brennan spent eighteen years at Shoppers Drug Mart in a number of leadership positions, contributing to increased profitability and brand penetration in Atlantic Canada.  He was named Senior Vice President, Retail Banner Services for McKesson Canada in March 2015.   Mr. Brennan is an active member of his community, contributing his drive for excellence to several local sports organizations. Most notably, he has been the Head Coach of the New Brunswick Provincial Ringette Team for 5 years, winners of 5 provincial and Atlantic titles between 2006 and 2011. He has also worked as a coach with the Miramichi Whitecaps Swim Club for nearly 8 years.   Mr. Brennan brings this strong leadership philosophy, drive to excellence and dedication to quality customer service to our retail banner operations as a key member of the Canadian Executive Team.
