Channy Muhn

Biography

Dr. Channy Y. Muhn is a dermatologist and a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. He is also a member of numerous associations including the Canadian Medical Association, Canadian Dermatology Association and American Academy of Dermatology. After completing his Honours Science Degree in Biology and Psychology at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario, Dr. Muhn graduated from McMaster University Medical School. He then went on to McGill University in Montreal, Quebec, to complete his dermatology residency training. Following his five year residency, Dr. Muhn completed a combined fellowship in Mohs skin cancer surgery/reconstruction and dermatologic/cosmetic surgery at McGill University. Many of the procedures studied during his intense training are offered to patients at Dermetics as listed on this web site. Dr. Muhn has completed additional instruction with internationally renowned leaders in liposuction, Botox, hair restoration, eyelid surgery and laser treatment. He is continually furthering his training and honing his skills. As well, Dr. Muhn is actively involved in teaching medical, surgical and cosmetic dermatology. He conducts teaching clinics for resident physicians and medical students as an Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine at the McMaster University Medical Centre. He lectures regularly to local physicians on topics such as acne, cancer, eczema and other skin conditions as well as cosmetic procedures. In fact, Dr. Muhn is an instructor for a number of cosmetic procedures, such as Botox injections, where he conducts training sessions to physicians involved in cosmetic procedures/surgery. He is also a member of the FACE program (Facial Aesthetics Chemodenervation for Experts), which is a collaboration of experts in Botox injections. Dr. Muhn has also published numerous articles and has presented at national and international conferences. In addition, he is currently involved in several active and ongoing research projects and publications. Dr. Muhn collaborates with other physicians in a multi-disciplinary clinic at Hamilton's Juravinski Cancer Centre. At the clinic, he is actively involved in managing skin cancers as well as performing skin cancer surgeries and reconstruction.
