Biography
My research interests are in osteoporosis with current interests in the relationship between bone, muscle and joints. Our most recent CIHR grant looks at bone and muscle and their effects on fracture risk. We are using both peripheral quantitative computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging to determine bone and muscle parameters and will look at prospectively gathered fracture data. This will examined in light of other established risk factors for fracture. Frailty indices have been developed to examine the influence of muscle and falls on fractures. Work is also being conducted in osteoarthritis and the influence of muscle on arthritis My research interests are in osteoporosis with current interests in the relationship between bone, muscle and joints.
