Biography
Mr. Derek A. Pickell has been Chief Executive Officer of e-MDs, Inc. since February 4, 2016. Mr. Pickell serves as the Chief Executive Officer of MDeverywhere, Inc. He serves as the President of the Healthcare Revenue Cycle Management Solutions Division at Convergent Technologies, Inc. He has over 30 years’ experience in the healthcare technology and technology enables service solutions business with specific expertise within e-MDs core healthcare markets including Practice Management, EMR and RCM solutions at small and large companies. Mr. Pickell served as Chief Executive Officer and President at Convergent Revenue Cycle Management, Inc. Mr. Pickell joined Convergent from McKesson Revenue Management Solutions. Prior to McKesson, he was Senior Vice President for sales and service for an electronic data interchange company that supports electronic eligibility verification, claims management, remittance advice, explanation of benefits and funds transfer for healthcare clients as well as managed care management software solutions. Mr. Pickell served as Vice President of Business Development of US SerVis, Inc. since joining its management team in March 1995. Prior to joining US Servis, Inc., Mr. Pickell served as Senior Vice President of Sales and Service for Wellmark Incorporated, a provider of electronic data interchange to the healthcare industry and he held this position from 1992 to 1995 and had national sales, implementation and ongoing client support responsibilities. Prior to 1992, he served as the National Director of Sales for the Health Care Systems Division of Ferranti International, a healthcare information services company. He has 15 years of experience in the healthcare industry providing management services and information systems to healthcare providers. He has been a Director of e-MDs, Inc. since February 4, 2016. He has been an active participant in HFMA, MGMA and other revenue cycle management professional organizations for many years. Mr. Pickell earned a B.A. in Economics / Business Administration with an emphasis in Computer Science and Political Science from Ursinus College in Collegeville, Pennsylvania.
