Biography
James Wells currently serves as the Director of Investments and Venture Creation at Evok Innovations. Previously, James worked as Vice President at Chrysalix Energy Venture Capital, a sustainable innovation and alternative energy venture capital firm focusing on breakthrough innovations in the resource sector. At Chrysalix, James was involved in all aspects of fund management, including deal sourcing, due diligence, portfolio management, and fundraising. James was an active contributor to portfolio management teams related to industrial water treatment, CO2 capture and conversion and industrial big data analytics. As a Vancouver native and active angel Investor, James has personally and professionally invested in 10 BC based technology companies and is passionate about contributing to BC’s cleantech and entrepreneurial community. Prior to Chrysalix, James worked in numerous start-ups, university technology transfer offices and fee for service prototyping labs. James has a degree in Biochemistry from the University of British Columbia and is a graduate from Singularity’s University Executive Program and the Boulder Outdoor Survival School.
