Don Owen

Biography

Don joined Midwest in 2009 as Infrastructure Specialist and was appointed IT Manager in December, 2012. He is responsible for strategic leadership, organization and direction of Information Technology systems for Midwest Surveys. Don is an advocate for best practices and standards development within the organization for IT systems. He is always looking for new technologies that will assist with the successful operation of Midwest’s business units. He received a Bachelor of Arts from St. Mary’s University in Halifax and a Computer Science Diploma from Dalhousie University. Born in St. John’s Newfoundland, spending his formative years in Halifax, Don moved to Calgary in 1998 where he has pursued his career in IT for the last fifteen years. As an aspiring author of speculative fiction you will find Don in his off time, and lunch time, trying to write the next great fantasy or sci-fi novel.
