Biography
Donald F. Weaver is the Managing Director at Mindful Scientific.He is a practicing neurologist and co-founder of several biotechnology companies including Neurochem (IPO in 2000), Donald Weaver has published hundreds of peer reviewed articles, supervised dozens of clinical trials for pharmaceutical companies, and is an inventor on over 70 patents as well as the recipient of numerous grants, awards and honors. He is a co-inventor of the HCS technology. He is a past winner of the Prix Galien Canada Award (2009), the Bantrel Award for excellence in design (2010) and the Jonas Salk Award (2011). He was formerly the Canada Research Chair in Neuroscience/Chemistry, Professor of the Departments of Medicine (Neurology), Chemistry and Biomedical Engineering at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia. He is currently Senior Scientist and Director at Krembil Research Institute (TWRI), where he oversees hundreds of researchers, trainees and staff. He received his M.D. and Ph.D. degrees from Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario, Canada. As well as being critical to ensuring the efficacy of the HCS, he is uniquely well placed to help the HCS gain clinical and medical validation.
