Steven E. Spooner

Biography

Mr. Steven E. Spooner, also known as Steve, has been President of ShoreTel, Inc. since September 26, 2017. Mr. Spooner has been Chief Financial Officer of Mitel Networks Corporation since June 20, 2003 and serves as its Principal Accounting Officer. He has over 32 years of experience negotiating, structuring, financing and integrating complex acquisitions and developed and executed strategies to transform companies to address business challenges and capitalize on changing market opportunities. Mr. Spooner served as Vice President of Finance at Mitel Networks Corporation since June 2003. He has nearly two decades of experience managing high technology organizations and held Executive positions with several leading technology companies, from 1984 to 2003, including, Digital Equipment for Canada Ltd. from 1984 to 1990, Wang Canada Ltd. from 1990 to 1992 and Arthur Andersen. From January 2003 to June 2003, he served as Chief Financial Officer of Wysdom Inc. From March 2002 to December 2002, he served as a Management Consultant for technology companies. Since 2007, he served as Chief Integration Officer with overall responsibility to integrate the acquisition of Inter-Tel into Mitel. From March 2000 to February 2002, he served as the President and Chief Executive Officer of Stream Intelligent Networks Corporation and has deployed a number of innovative technologies including fixed wireless, Gigabit Ethernet and robotic fiber installation. From February 1995 to February 2000, he held the position of Chief Financial Officer of CrossKeys Systems Corporation since 1998. He served as the Chief Financial Officer and Vice President of Orchestream Canada Corporation (Alternate Name: Crosskeys Systems Corporation). Prior to that, he served as Vice President of Finance and Corporate Controller of SHL Systemhouse Inc. He has been a Director of Jamieson Wellness Inc. since October 18, 2017. He has been a Director of ShoreTel, Inc. since September 25, 2017. He serves as a Member of Strategic Advisory Board of Avendo Wireless Inc. He is a Member of the Board of the Canadian Wireless Telecom Association (CWTA) and Chair of the CWTA Fixed Wireless Council. He served as a Director of Magor Corporation (Alternate Name: Magor Communications Corporation) since May 2009 until November 27, 2015. He served as a Director of Mitel Mobility Inc. (formerly, Mavenir Systems, Inc.) since April 29, 2015. He served as a Director of Biovest Corp. I since March 2013. Mr. Spooner is a Chartered Accountant (Ontario 1982) and an Honours Commerce graduate of Carleton University (Ottawa, Ontario, Canada). He holds the ICD.D Professional Director Designation from the Institute of Corporate Directors.
