Biography
Mr. Steward Lyons has been the President of Mobilicity since November 2011 and serves as its Chief Operating Officer. Mr. Lyons served as Chief Executive Officer at Mobilicity since November 2011. After leading the initial formation of Mobilicity, he oversaw all operational elements and played a significant role in Mobilicity's equity and debt fundraising efforts. Previously, he was Executive Vice President of XM Satellite Radio Canada. As the initial employee and co-founder of XM Satellite Radio Canada, he led the launch of the business and regulatory licensing process, developed customer operations including hardware/logistics sourcing and contractual relationships. He also created and led XM Satellite Radio Canada’s direct and indirect sales teams, oversaw outsourced operational relationships and implemented its subscriber acquisition and retention toolkit. His business background also includes working within the financial services industry. While at Scotia Capital Inc., he was an Interest Rate Derivatives Trader, trading several structured derivative products across multiple currencies, as part of its Global Trading group. He served as Director of Operations for the Toronto 2008 Olympic Bid, a fast-paced, entrepreneurial start-up, involving multiple stakeholders and requiring both national and international government coordination. He sits on the Boards of Directors of several charitable organizations. In 2010, he was named one of Canada's Top 40 Under 40, which celebrates Canadian business leaders in the private, public and not-for-profit sectors. He has an MBA from the University of Toronto and an LLB from Osgoode Hall Law School.
