Biography
Ray DePaul is the inaugural Director of the Institute for Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Mount Royal University. The Institute’s mission is to graduate the most entrepreneurial minds in Canada. Ray has launched many innovative products in his 30-year career. He has been a successful entrepreneur, selling his previous company to Intel, and was also a key member of the team that brought the iconic BlackBerry to the world. He is currently the Innovator in Residence at the Calgary Chamber of Commerce, on the board of Innovate Calgary as well as several private sector advisory boards, and is proud to be a mentor and advisor to many young entrepreneurs. Ray holds a Bachelors of Mathematics in Computer Science from the University of Waterloo and a Masters of Business Administration from Wilfrid Laurier University, where he was the recipient of the Alumnus Award for Outstanding Innovation and Achievement.
