Biography
Bruce Fraser is the Corporate Manager of Training & Professional Safety Development for J.S. Redpath Limited. He has also held the professional designation of a Canadian Registered Safety Professional for the past twenty years and has been involved full time in EHS for thirty years. He started mining at a young age of eighteen years old and has seen many changes in the mining industry which he feels makes it one of the safest, dynamic and innovative industries in the world. Bruce is very passionate about Joint Health & Safety Committees and has been a co-chair representing labor and management throughout his career. He has worked for base metal mines, potash mines, gold mines, engineering firms doing EPCM work and now with a world class mining contractor firm. His present organization has utilized his experience in conducting training plus safety activities in countries such as Mongolia, Indonesia, South Africa, Chile, United States and Canada. Two key initiatives he is very focused on is teaching leadership skills and bringing fun, energy plus engagement back into training. He is dedicated to promoting health and fitness on many levels. He has several teacher degrees in martial arts, has been a high school wrestling coach and has implemented fitness facilities in several communities across Canada. In 1988 the Governor General of Canada presented him with a medal for his dedication, passion and contribution to amateur sports.
