Biography
Jeff McLaughlin is currently Vice-President Smelting & Refining for Vale Base Metals, North Atlantic. In this role, he oversees all Canadian and U.K. smelting and refining operations to ensure that production processes are integrated and in alignment with business goals, and that the operating personnel achieve focus on safety, production, cost and quality. Before accepting this role in 2010, he was General Manager of Process Technology for North Atlantic Smelting & Refining Operations. Jeff was born in Sarnia, Ontario and naturally took to the mineral and chemical industry, eventually earning a BASc in Chemical Engineering (1985) and PhD in Extractive Metallurgy (1992) from the University of Toronto.
