Biography
Chris has been working in the Engineering field since 1987, initially working as a surveyor. Finding the engineering industry interesting, he returned to school, first becoming a technologist, and then an engineer, graduating from Lakehead University in 1994 with a B.Eng. in Civil Engineering. Chris established Nordmin in 2005, and has guided the company through its growth to three offices across Canada with more than 120 employees. Coming from a mining family, Chris grew up in Sudbury, Ontario, and was the fifth generation of his family to work at the Garson Mine, the first being his great-great grandfather in the 1890's. Chris is a noted expert in the design and evaluation of mining infrastructure systems, including shafts, hoisting Systems, materials handling and classification systems, and has either directed or been involved with the design of more than 50 shaft, headframe and hoisting installations around the world.
