Biography
Marco Palmieri is Senior Vice President and President, Novelis North America. Appointed to this position in May 2013, Palmieri leads all aspects of the company’s business in the region, which is currently experiencing a step-change in its product offerings as it increases sales to the automotive sector. Palmieri joined Novelis in August 2011 as Senior Vice President and President, Novelis South America. Prior to joining Novelis, Palmieri was Aluminium Business Director for Votorantim Metais Ltda., the entity holding the aluminum, nickel and zinc operations of the Votorantim Group, a large industrial conglomerate based in São Paulo, Brazil. Palmieri also spent more than 25 years with Rio Tinto Alcan in a series of international leadership positions in various areas including business development, primary metal and energy production.
