Todd Summe

Biography

Todd Summe is Vice President of Global Research & Development for Novelis. In this role, he is responsible for leading the company’s product innovation strategy and R&D across all regions and markets. He also oversees Novelis’ global network of research & technology centers throughout Europe, Asia, and North America. Summe joined Novelis in 2012 as the Global Technology Director for Automotive, where he oversaw the development and deployment of new products and technologies enabling transformational growth of aluminum body structures. Prior to joining Novelis, Summe held roles of increasing responsibility at Alcoa Inc.  He has also held design and engineering positions with United Technologies and Bell Helicopter. His 25-year career has primarily focused on the innovation of engineered-systems and aluminum materials across a wide range of markets including automotive, commercial vehicles, alternative energy, consumer products, commercial aerospace and defense.
