Biography
David Stanley is responsible for all aspects of Research and Development at PCI Geomatics. Mr. Stanley has been with the company since 1981. During that time he has been involved in every aspect of development from system level driver implementation, hardware and systems configuration, language design, algorithmic research and development, interface design, project management and proposal writing. Application areas have ranged from image processing, mapping, satellite geometric correction and image processing for aerial photography, SAR and Optical Satellites. Mr. Stanley has recently obtained and has led a number of large multi-year R&D projects worth over $40M. He has received national recognition by being one of several PCI Geomatics members cited for exceptional contributions to the GeoComp development project, through the Sector Award of Merit, issued by the Earth Sciences Sector of Natural Resources Canada and Federal Partners in Technology Transfer award for ortho correction and visualization software for satellite images. Mr. Stanley received his B.Sc. in Computer Science and Applied Mathematics from the University of Toronto in 1981 and became involved in graduate work pertaining to Artificial Intelligence. He is a Member of the Board for PCI Geomatics, a Director of GIAC, and a former Member of the Board for Geoide.
