Biography
Punyama provides design engineering support for Pond’s process, including optimization of gas diffusion systems, cooling modules, algae settling columns etc using finite element simulations. Punyama holds a B.Sc in Chemical & Process Engineering from the University of Moratuwa (Sri Lanka) and a Master of Engineering from the Memorial University of Newfoundland. Her Master’s research focused on process development for bio-oil/biofuel recovery from fish processing plant effluents. Prior to working at Pond, she worked as a Research Engineer for various biomass-to-biofuel conversion projects. Punyama is a licensed Engineer-in-Training with the PEGNL.
