Biography
Ms. Sadeghi obtained her M.Sc. in Chemical Engineering at University of Saskatchewan in 2015. Her Master's project focused on “Water treatment using Nano-Zinc Oxide for catalytic ozonation processes” during which she gained valuable experience working on water treatment technology and environmental processes. She also holds a Master's degree in Organic Chemistry from Sharif University of Technology (Tehran, Iran). While studying her M.Sc. in Organic Chemistry, she had the opportunity to learn and demonstrate great competence in a broad variety of multi-step syntheses and development of new methodologies for application in total synthesis. She has experience in various analytical techniques such as NMR, GC-MS, LC-MS (Q-TOF orbitrap), FTIR, TOC, HPLC, COD, and BOD analyses and also in engineering software (HYSYS, MATLAB, ChemDraw, ChemSketch). Her previous work experience consists of collaborative projects with Delco Automation Inc. (Saskatoon, Canada), HSE specialist at Milad Tower (Tehran, Iran), and R&D research assistant in Research Institute of Petroleum Industry (Tehran, Iran). In August 2015, she joined the Team Phat (Dr. Reneay’s group) as a Research Technician in the Department of Plant Sciences at the University of Saskatchewan. Currently, she is a Processing Manager of Prairie Tide Chemicals Inc. and working on the development and extraction of mixed peptides from flaxseed oil.
