Lana Paton

Biography

Lana Paton is the Managing Partner of PwC Canada’s Tax Services group, based in Toronto. As part of the firm’s Tax practice for more than twenty years, Lana has held various positions in the tax practice and previously was the energy, utilities, mining, and industrial products leader for the firm. She has a broad range of experience providing tax advice to clients in the mining and power and utilities industries and has extensive experience in areas including cross-border tax planning, acquisitions, divestitures, corporate reorganizations, payments in lieu of taxes, provincial mining taxes and levies, tax accounting matters, and dealing with taxation authorities in all levels of government. Lana has made various utility and mining industry presentations and was a contributor to PwC’s annual Mine publication that reviews global trends in the mining industry. She has worked with a wide variety of advisors on numerous engagements in countries around the world. She is actively involved with the firm’s award-winning Women in Leadership program and is a recipient of the WXN Canada's Most Powerful Women: Top 100 Award. Lana holds her Bachelor of Math degree from the University of Waterloo in 1993 and has been a qualified CPA, CA since 1994. Active in her community, Lana is a Director with Make-A-Wish Canada
