Biography
Chris Stewart, decided that she wanted to be a mathematics teacher because she wanted everyone to understand how easy it really was, even though the teacher sometimes made it seem complicated — at least that’s how she saw it at age eight. After studying applied mathematics at the University of St Andrews, she still felt much the same, and so qualified as a secondary school teacher. After several years of teaching in Scotland and England she moved to Vancouver with her husband Peter, and took the opportunity to gain a PhD in mathematics education from Simon Fraser University.
