Biography
Dr. Thea van Til Rusthoven completed both her B.A. (Trinity Christian College) and M.A. (University of Illinois, Urbana) in the state of Illinois before coming to Canada to first be a school teacher, and then to later pursue a Ph.D. at the University of Toronto. While her doctoral dissertation dealt with the writings of the renowned French writer Émile Zola, her research and pedagogical interests have widened over the years to include a broad range of literature from the 19th and 20th centuries. She is especially interested in Christian approaches to teaching literature and language and in the relationship between worldview and description in the novel.
