Biography
Ben Stabler is a national leader in travel modeling software development with demonstrated expertise in activity-based demand modeling and network supply modeling, in addition to significant experience with trip-based modeling, statewide modeling, and model visualization and analysis. He is especially interested in improving model implementation through collaboration, open data standards, and open source solutions. Ben is active in various Transportation Research Board (TRB) initiatives, manages the open matrix standard, and has instructed the U.S. Department of Transportation’s travel demand forecasting course. He is also a certified Geographic Information System (GIS) Professional. Ben began his modeling career at the Oregon Department of Transportation, where he worked on statewide integrated land use transport models, MPO travel demand models, and small urban area travel models. Before joining RSG in 2015, he worked in commercial travel demand modeling software development as the Product Manager for PTV VISUM and served in several roles in the systems analysis group at Parsons Brinckerhoff, including project manager and software development manager. Ben is a native of the Pacific Northwest and enjoys exploring the outdoors with his family and playing basketball.
