Biography
John Asher is returning to RSA after nearly a decade with The Co-operators Group Limited. In his most recent role, he was Vice President, Finance and Corporate Actuarial for Co-operators Life Insurance Company, responsible for the strategic direction and operational success of the corporate actuarial and finance areas. In this role, he led a multi-year transformation effort that significantly improved company profitability. Prior to joining The Co-operators, John worked for RSA in the Corporate Development team and was involved in a number of strategic acquisitions. His final role was Director of Finance for Noraxis Capital Corporation, where he was a member of the management team. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Guelph and a Masters of Business Administration from Queen’s University, as well as a CA (Chartered Professional Accountant) designation and an ICD (Institute of Corporate Directors) designation.
