Biography
Prof. Philip Onguny’s current research and supervisory interests revolve around three research streams: a) media, conflicts and humanitarianism; b) media framing and public opinion; and c) digital technologies, civic engagement, and social change. Philip is currently working on a SSHRC-funded project seeking to develop a comprehensive typology of frames for electoral violence and land-based conflicts in Sub-Saharan Africa. This 2-year project (2017-2019) draws on multi-sited ethnographic fieldwork in Kenya.
