Andrew Branion

Biography

As Executive Vice President and Group Treasurer, Andrew Branion is responsible for managing Scotiabank’s global treasury and investment operations, including medium-term and capital funding, asset/liability management, liquidity and public and private investment portfolios. Previously, Andrew was Executive Vice President and Chief Market Risk Officer, where he was responsible for Trade Floor Risk Management, Enterprise Risk, Risk and Capital Analytics, and Model Risk Management. Andrew joined Scotiabank in 1997 from the Bank of Canada, and held progressively senior roles in Global Banking and Markets before moving to Global Risk Management in January 2012. He is Vice-Chairman of the Providence Healthcare Foundation Board. Andrew holds a Master of Business Administration degree with a concentration in Finance from the University of Toronto and a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Alberta.
