Biography
Dr. Mark Friedberg began his medical career when he received his medical degree from the Ben-Gurion University of the Negev in Israel. He continued with internship and paediatric residency at the Soroka Medical Centre and the Rambam Medical Centre, during which he also spent a period of time doing basic science research at the NIH in Bethesda, Maryland. He did his pediatric cardiology fellowship at the Lucille Packard Children’s Hospital and Stanford University in California where he continued to complete a senior fellowship in echocardiography and clinical research as a Glaser Pediatric Research Network fellow. Dr. Friedberg joined the SickKids team as a Staff Cardiologist in 2006. Between his work on both the clinical and research sides of SickKids, Dr. Friedberg likes to spend time with his wife and three kids, enjoying activities including outdoor activities, reading and listening to music. SickKids provides the satisfaction of an integrated approach of research and clinical work for Dr. Friedberg, who focuses on non-invasive assessment of heart function, 3-D echocardiography and prenatal diagnosis of congenital heart disease.
