Biography
Michel Champagne holds a Master’s degree in Science from Université Laval and a B.Sc. from Université de Montréal. From 1978 to 1980 and again from 1982 to 1986, he worked in mineral exploration in Québec for SOQUEM, and acquired underground experience with Louvem where he headed the team that discovered the Main Zone at the Chimo Mine. From 1986 to 1995, he worked at the Montreal Stock Exchange, as Chief Geologist and Listing Rep. and thus acquired experience in the securities sector. From 1995 to 2000, he worked first with Freewest Resources Inc. and Murgor Resources Inc, but especially with Pangea Goldfields Inc. as Exploration Manager for Latin America and was head of Pangea Peru S.A. The latter delineated two mineral deposits that are currently at the preliminary scoping study and prefeasibility stages. Since 2001, he has contributed to the establishment of SIDEX and is currently its CEO.
