Biography
Michel Jébrak holds two Doctorate degrees in Science from Université d’Orléans in France. Since 1987, he is a Professor at the Department of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences at Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM), where he has also served as Dean of the Faculty of Science and Vice-Rector of Research and Creation. He is also Associate Professor at Université du Québec en Abitibi-Témiscamingue (UQAT) and Invited Professor at the Nancy School of Mines. He has held various research and management positions for mineral exploration companies in Europe, in Africa, and in North America. Recipient of numerous awards in Europe and in Québec, he cofounded the Consortium de recherche en exploration minérale (CONSOREM) and the DIVEX inter-university network for the diversification of mineral exploration in Québec. He is President of Ouranos Scientific Council, Consortium on Regional Climatology and Adaptation to Climate Change and holds the UQAM-UQAT Chair in Mining Entrepreneurship.
